Giving to First Tee – Central Ohio
At First Tee, we’re not just teaching kids to swing clubs; we’re empowering them to navigate life’s challenges with resilience, self-confidence, and inner strength. Over the past 12 months, we’ve impacted 8,600 kids and teens through the seamless integration of golf and life skills curriculum. Our mission goes beyond the fairway – we’re shaping the leaders of tomorrow.
Why 12 Days of Giving?
12 Days of Giving is our rallying cry to raise $50,000 in donations to finish 2023 strong. Your support ensures that we can continue providing character-building programming for local kids and teens.
While our onsite classes cost $120, the real cost is closer to $500 per participant. In addition, we make financial aid available to any child who needs it, and provide equipment for all participants.
Our partnerships extend our reach to even more kids – with 48 schools and 11 community partners delivering First Tee programming throughout Central Ohio. We strategically target partners who help us reach kids and teens in under-resourced communities. All of our school and community programs are completely funded by support from donors like you.
What does that all mean? Only about 10% of our expenses are covered by program revenue – we rely on generous partners like you to help us close the gap. Raising $50,000 will provide resources for 100 kids to experience First Tee programming at no cost to their family, while also providing resources for our school and community programs. Your gift to First Tee – Central Ohio impacts local kids and teens by providing access to character development and golf skills that will serve them for a lifetime.
Thanks to a generous matching program from Charles Schwab, raising $50,000 by the end of 2023 will unlock up to $29,000 in matching funds to help us expand our impact on kids in our community. Our ability to receive this match is directly tied to your support! Every contribution counts toward our goal, regardless of donation amount.

$5,000 Gift ($417 / month)
Launch First Tee programming in one new school. Provides equipment for participants and training and materials for teachers.
$2,500 Gift ($209 / month)
Cover the cost of one high school or college summer intern, who gains valuable experience while they give back to First Tee.
$1,000 Gift ($84 / month)
Provide financial aid to 8 kids in onsite programming, contributing to the cost of equipment, coaching and supplies.
$500 Gift ($42 / month)
Fund First Tee programming for 10 kids at a local community rec center by providing supplemental equipment and staffing.
$250 Gift ($21 / month)
Purchase two sets of junior golf clubs for use by program participants who do not have their own equipment.
$120 Gift ($10 / month)
Provide financial aid to 1 kid in onsite programming, contributing to the cost of equipment, coaching and supplies.

Maximize Your Giving
- Give through The Columbus Foundation – On Giving Tuesday—TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 28—The Columbus Foundation will cover all fees for gifts made by credit card in The Giving Store, so 100% of donations will go directly to First Tee!
- Check if your donation can be matched – Thousands of companies match donations made by employees to organizations like First Tee. Check with your employer to find out if they will increase your impact through a matching gift.
- Become a monthly donor – Consider making an ongoing contribution to First Tee by becoming a monthly donor. Just select the “Monthly” option when completing your donation form.
