Who We Are
First Tee – Central Ohio is a youth organization that promotes character development in kids and teens through the game of golf. We enable kids to build the strength of character that empowers them through a lifetime of new challenges. By seamlessly integrating the game of golf with life skills curriculum, we create learning experiences that build inner strength, self-confidence, and resilience that kids carry to everything they do.
Our Goal
Our goal is to enhance and enrich the lives of our children by using the game of golf as a medium to teach our children a variety of life skills, core values, and healthy habits.
Children ages 5-18 can join First Tee — Central Ohio. Special emphasis is placed on those who may not be able to play due to financial circumstances. Our program works with all families who are interested in this opportunity by providing financial assistance and equipment. Members have access to sign up for the First Tee Life Skills programming and will have opportunity to utilize the learning center and golf course.
First Tee — Central Ohio History
History of The Morton Foundation
Friends and associates of Robert J.G. Morton established the Morton Foundation in 1998. Its purpose is to enhance the golf experience for youngsters in Central Ohio.
The Foundation was named after Bob Morton, a retired bank executive who dedicated much of his life to the game of golf. He was recognized internationally as one of the most active proponents of the game, working tirelessly to widen the appeal of golf. The Morton Foundation was established to continue and enhance his efforts. In 2013, The Morton Foundation became First Tee — Central Ohio.
